FAITH IN GOD
WHAT IS FAITH
Faith is defined as belief with strong conviction; firm belief in something for which there may be no tangible proof; complete trust, confidence, reliance, or devotion. Faith is the opposite of doubt
To have faith in God is to make a practical commitment—the kind involved in trusting God, or, trusting in God. (The root meaning of the Greek pistis, 'faith', is 'trust'.)
WHY IS FAITH IN GOD IMPORTANT?
Having faith is having trust. You have to trust with your entire being that God has your back that he will help you and take care of you. He knows what is best, but to truly embrace what he has planned for you, you have to fully trust. Our trust is not foolish, for our God is both faithful and good.
Faith requires patience and perseverance. Perseverance marches on, despite discouragement and difficulty. Faith requires both patience and perseverance to overcome doubt as you wait for healing, resolution, or answers. “For when the way is rough, your patience has a chance to grow” (James 1:3)
Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him as righteousness. Now when a man works, his wages are not credited to him as a gift, but as an obligation. However, to the man who does not work but trusts God who justifies the wicked, his faith is credited as righteousness
Hebrews 11:1 says “Faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen”.
Psalm 46:10 says Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations; I will be exalted in the earth!
John 8:24 says unless you believe that I am who I claim to be, you will die in your sins (doubt).
Romans 12:3 says “For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.”

WHAT ARE THE FOUR FAITH WORDS
· Temperance
· Prudence
· Justice
· Fortitude - to avoid sin.
CONCLUSION
Unless we have faith, we cannot work well, because doubt scatters and dissipates our energy. A little doubt enters our mind and soon a great storm is raging inside, which leaves us dejected and exhausted. Doubt always tears down, it is wasteful and destructive; while faith is constructive.
Relate the Word of God to yourself. Apply biblical passages to your life in order to glorify God. Increase your faith by reading the Bible. "For without Faith, it is impossible to please God, because anyone who approaches Him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him" (Hebrews 11:6)
